Bhagwan Mahaveer Education Foundation was initially established in the year 2002 at Surat in Gujarat, with an objective to provide quality based education in all the spheres of life. Presently the foundation is running 17 institutions over all. With the view to achieve this objective, the foundation set up an educational institution at Kundli in a rented building situated in District Sonepat, Haryana in the year 2006. The site of college was selected at the main national highway No.1 connecting Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh. The selection of the site was also made with an angle to provide education at the door steps to the poor and backward students of Haryana.

Bhagwan Mahaveer College of Education (BMCE) Jagdishpur, Sonipat,was established under the aegis of Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation in the year of 2006 with a vision to produce the best quality of teachers to meet the present challenges in the field of education. It is a leading Institute in Northern India having maximum intake capacity in B.Ed, M.Ed. & D.El.Ed courses. BMCE is recognized by NCTE, and affiliated to M. D. University, Rohtak for its post graduate (M.Ed.) and undergraduate programs (B.Ed.).For the diploma course in education (D.El.Ed.), it is recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani and SCERT, Haryana. BMCE has an intake of 300 students in B.Ed.,100 students in M.Ed. and 150 students in D.El.Ed.

The college has an entire modern infrastructure with basic amenities and facilities including Resource Centres like Science and Mathematics, Art & craft, Psychology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Health and Physical Education, Language Laboratory, Classrooms, Staff room, separate common rooms for Boys and Girls, Multipurpose hall with a capacity of 350 students, Conference room and well furnished air conditioned Computer Centre equipped with a sophisticated internet facility. A large number of modern teaching aids like projectors, Screens, LCD, white boards etc. are used by the faculty to keep pace with the latest trend in the field of teacher education.

The college has been making steady progress since its inception and has unique status in Haryana. Among the self financed colleges, BMCE is most sought after by the students from U.P., Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana and other far off states. BMCE has been maintaining excellent academic standards right from its inception. The college has employed eminent and well qualified staff from different renowned Institutes who are deeply dedicated to teaching.The college organizes seminars, conferences, workshops and extension lectures other academic activities on the campus to acquaint the students with the latest information and keep them abreast with the changing paradigm of teaching and research.

Infrastructure And Resources

Library: BMCE has an excellent well-endowed library with latest and up-to-date reading, research and reference material consisting of more than 22,000 books available for the students. The library also subscribes to all the educational magazines, research journals as well as periodicals. Book bank facility is also available for the students of the college. Collection of books, journals and periodicals are regularly augmented and updated. It is a central place of academic and research activities. The college has an internet facility in the library and is in the process to develop the digital library.

Resource Centers

A. CURRICULUM LAB: Teaching Learning Resource Centre for Science and Mathematics has been established having multiple sets of Science apparatus required to perform the experiments prescribed in the syllabus for secondary classes. Chemicals and biological specimen are also available in the Centre.

B. ART AND CRAFT CENTRE: To provide opportunities and training to student teachers for acquiring and enhancing necessary skills in different areas of Art and Crafts, a fully furnished Teaching Learning Resource Centre for Art and Craft has also been established at BMCE.

C. PSYCHOLOGY RESOURCE CENTRE: Student teachers must focus on practical work that enables them to better understand real life application of the concepts of psychology. In order to meet these requirements, the BMCE has established a psychology resource centre equipped with various verbal and non-verbal Psychological tests, apparatus and equipment.

D. INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE CENTRE: Various forms of technology that are used to transmit, store, create, display, share and exchange information by electronic means is referred to as Information Communication Technology (ICT). It includes technologies like, Radio, TV, Video, DVD, MP3, MP4, Telephone, mobile, computer Network, Hardware & Software, E-mail etc. BMCE has established a well equipped ICT Centre with modern facilities.

E. HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION RESOURCE CENTRE:To provide opportunities to the student-teachers to participate in a variety of physical activities, a well equipped health and physical education resource centre has been established in the college.

PLACEMENT CELL

BMCE has an efficient Placement Cell which help the students seek placement in various schools. The cell organizes mock interviews, resume writing workshops and group discussions to prepare job ready teachers. A number of our students have been placed in Government, Kendriya Vidyalya Sangathan, reputed public schools and education colleges in Haryana and other states. The Institute invites experts to conduct personality development and other relevant programs to face challenges of the millennium as well as to equip our students to meet the job needs.

GRIEVANCES AND REDRESSAL CELL

BMCE has constituted a grievances and redressal cell for resolving the problems of students and gender sensitive issues.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

An alumni association has been formed to interact with our old students and take their help and cooperation in the development of college and enhance the chances of employment for our existing students.

SPORTS

BMCE has large playgrounds in the campus with all the facilities for outdoor games like Cricket, Volleyball, Football. Hockey and Basketball. Facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, Badminton etc. are also available. Annual athletic meet are also organized in which prizes are distributed to best sportspersons.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The college encourages its students to participate in extra-curricular activities to develop overall personality and communication skills. The performances and involvement of student teachers in these activities is commendable.

HOSTEL

The hostel provides safe and comfortable accommodation to Boys & Girls. Separate hostel for boys and girls are available with excellent mess, common room and entertainment facility in the campus. Healthy and hygienic conditions are ensured in hostels through installation of water coolers and RO systems.

CAFETERIA

The colleges has a modern and clean cafeteria for students and staff where fruits, snacks, soft drinks, milkshakes, ice creams sundaes and other eatables are available at affordable price. Both quality and hygiene are our utmost priority in the canteen.

The college has its own transport facilities for students and staff from Sonepat, Narela, Kundli, different parts of Delhi and adjoining areas.

ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

In the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order, ragging is a punishable act and is completely banned on the campus. The college has an Anti-ragging committee to check the menace of ragging. The anti ragging squad is quite active and keeps a check on all the student teachers. Any student if found indulging in the ragging be liable for different punishments as mentioned in the brochure of the college.
